VIDEO: Rising of the survivor totem pole in Vancouver, B.C.

On November 5, a symbol of hope and survival was placed in Pigeon Park in Vancouver: a 27-foot totem pole carved by Haida carver Bernie Williams.

The totem pole was dedicated to all survivors of injustice and racism. The location, being in the Downtown Eastside, symbols a dedication to those struggling in the area.
